To Build, To
Involve, To Instill Pride In Our Community
Diverse and United
II: an exhibition of Community Artists and Friends
October 30 to December 30,
2004
The Hubbard-Richard community motto is
"Diverse and United". It is true that the community is indeed diverse. The
66 artists from various heritages in this exhibition are
leading the way towards unity.
We are grateful to our parent organization,
Ste. Anne de Detroit, and its pastor, Rev. Thomas Sepúlveda, CSB, for supporting
the cultural projects of The Hispanic Arts and Education Center. We appreciate
Bagley Housing Association director, Dr. Vincent Murray for providing us a
rent-free space, and his staff, Dan Loacano, Amelia Durán, Marti Delgado and
LaKeisha Tuggle for their warm and gracious welcome to gallery artists and
patrons. We deeply appreciate the enthusiasm and talent of the artists who
exhibit with us. We are indebted to our
financial supporters: City of Detroit
Cultural Affairs Department, Bank One, and Gallery patrons. Special thanks also
go to my talented and generous exhibit co-organizers, Mary Laredo Herbeck and
Cheryl Phillips. To one and all "mil gracias", a thousand thank you's.
Ursula R. Murray,
Exhibit Curator and President of The Hispanic Arts and Education Center at Ste.
Anne de Detroit
